11-6-2013 Vol. 7 Part 36 Book of Revelation
Psalms
113:1-9 Praise the LORD! Praise, O
servants of the LORD, Praise the name of the LORD! Blessed be the name of the
LORD From this time forth and forevermore! From the rising of the sun to its
going down The LORD's name is
to be praised. The LORD is high
above all nations, His glory above the heavens. Who is like the LORD our God, Who dwells on high, Who humbles
Himself to behold The things that are
in the heavens and in the earth? He raises the poor out of the dust, And lifts the needy out of the ash
heap, That He may seat him with
princes— With the princes of His people. He grants the barren woman a home,
Like a joyful mother of children. Praise the LORD!
Father God we
praise you and ask that you bestow you love and grace upon us and our loved ones
in such a way that our relationship with you will increase. In Jesus name we
pray, Amen!
Revelation 15:1-8 NKJV
This
chapter is an introductory to the last seven judgments of God, those judgments
being the Seven Bowl Judgments. The last few chapters, 12, 13, and 14 has given
us a glimpse of what will be going on here on earth in the last 3 ½ years of
the Tribulation. If you remember the last 3 ½ years of the Tribulation was
kicked off with a spiritual war in the heavens and as a result of this war,
Satan and his band of evil doers were cast to the earth and forbidden to ever
set foot in Heaven again. Revelation 12:7-9
The Seventh
Seal Judgment was an introductory to the Seven Trumpet Judgments and the same
is true for the Seventh Trumpet being an introduction to the Seven Bowl
Judgments. This chapter doesn’t tell us what the judgments are, but Chapter 16
will. The Seventh Trumpet was only mentioned in 5 verses of Chapter eleven,
verses 15-19, and speaks of it being time for God’s wrath to be poured out on
the inhabitants of earth that haven’t accepted Jesus as their Saviour. The
following chapters, 12, 13, & 14 that we have just covered tells us of
other events that are happening during this time frame. Revelation 11:15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were
loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His
Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!" Revelation
11:18-19 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time
of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your
servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and
great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth." So
the seventh Trumpet is announcing the final judgments, the seven bowls, which
are plagues upon mankind and it is time for Jesus to return and reign forever.
1 Then I
saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous: seven angels having the seven
last plagues, for in them the wrath of God is complete.
Then
I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous; This vision that John is about to
describe for us containing the bowl judgments goes clear back to Exodus
involving a covenant that God made with Moses and the Israelites. These
judgments will display God’s power over all that He has created from the
beginning of time. It is a power that is great, marvelous, and one that will or
should strike fear in the unbelievers, and immediately after these judgments
Jesus will descend and bring evil to an end. These great and marvelous signs
will be for the protection of God’s people, those that are Born Again, to know
He is coming soon. For the unbelievers it is a last calling for repentance. Exodus 34:8-10 So Moses made haste and bowed his head toward
the earth, and worshiped. 9 Then he said, "If now I have found grace in
Your sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray, go among us, even though we are a stiff-necked people; and pardon
our iniquity and our sin, and take us as Your inheritance." 10 And He
said (God): "Behold, I make a covenant. Before all
your people I will do marvels such as have not been done in all the earth, nor
in any nation; and all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the LORD. For it is an awesome thing that I will do
with you.
Seven
angels having the seven last plagues, for in them the wrath of God is complete; The word wrath is translated
improperly in this verse. The Greek word is “thumos” which means anger. The
Greek word for wrath is “orge”. So the phrase should state, “for in them the “anger”
of God is complete. These last seven plagues will complete God’s plan for this
earth. His anger will be poured out on all the evilness of this world. When He
finishes it, it will be complete and Jesus will rule from then on.
2 And I saw
something like a sea of glass
mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, over his
image and over his mark and
over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God.
And
I saw something like a sea of
glass mingled with fire;
Back in Revelation 4:6, “a sea of glass” was spoken of, but there is something
different here with this sea of glass. Do you know what it is? In verse 6 of
chapter 4 the sea of glass was like crystal but this time it is mingled with
fire. Crystal represents purity, holiness, and God’s righteousness, while fire
in this verse represents God’s wrath, anger, and judgment. Revelation 4:6 Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the
throne, and around the throne, were
four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back.
Those
who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name; These that have victory over the beast
have resisted worshiping his image, not receiving his mark, or taking on his
name. By the power of the Holy Spirit they have been able to stand steadfast
with the armor of God on. This represents a third group that will be redeemed
during the Tribulation. The first was the souls robed in white that were under
the altar Revelation 7:9, and the
second was the 144,000 of Chapter 14.
Standing
on the sea of glass having harps of God: This is a peaceful scene and one that gives peace and
rest to those persecuted by the Antichrist during the last half of the
Tribulation. They are in God’s Throne room and there is no other place of
complete rest in the universe like God’s Throne room. These standing here have
victory over the Antichrist and have been redeemed by the life saving blood of
Jesus Christ. The harps in their hands represent the praise and worship they
are about to give to God Almighty for being saved.
3 They sing
the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying:
"Great and marvelous are
Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints!
They
sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying; The song of Moses was one of
thanksgiving and praise to God by the Israelite for being delivered from
Egyptian bondage Exodus Chapter 15. The
song of the Lamb begins with the Crucifixion Psalm
22 and closes with Jesus Christ as King of kings, and Lord of lords,
in Revelation Chapter 19.
Great
and marvelous are Your works,
Lord God Almighty! Just and true are
Your ways, O King of the saints;
Great and marvelous are your works pertains to what Jesus did for us on the
Cross in our place. There is nothing greater than this. It is a true and pure
definition of love. Jesus is the King, His ways are true, and when one follows
Jesus with a sincere and contrite heart they will be justified by His shed
blood.
4 Who shall
not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are
holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, For Your judgments
have been manifested."
This verse jumps ahead to
the Millennial Reign. After the Battle of Armageddon those on earth will be
ushered into the thousand year reign of Jesus sitting on the throne and ruling
here on earth with His Saints. Who shall not fear Him? All will fear Him and
glorify His name because they will have witnessed His power and will clearly
see His uprightness against sin.
5 After
these things I looked, and behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the
testimony in heaven was opened.
After
these things I looked, and behold;
This phrase is referring to it being time to pour out the final judgments of
God and bring the evilness on earth to an end that Satan started in the Garden
of Eden.
The
temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened; This refers to the Holy of Holies,
where the Ark of the Covenant was kept, which contained the Ten Commandments.
The mention of this brings us back to Exodus where Moses was instructed to
build a tabernacle of tent for God to dwell in. The word “tabernacle” means a
booth, hut, tent, and was the name commonly given to the tent or tabernacle
that was erected in the wilderness.
6 And out
of the temple came the seven angels having the seven plagues, clothed in pure
bright linen, and having their chests girded with golden bands.
Out
of the temple came the seven angels; These
seven angels come directly out of the temple, the actual dwelling place of God.
Having
the seven plagues; These
seven plagues are the last of God’s judgments to be poured out on earth. You
might say it will be the last call to repentance. If those on earth don’t
repent of their sinful lifestyles, then they will be cast into the Lake of
Fire.
Clothed
in pure bright linen; These
angels are clothed in the same manner as Jesus in chapter one. Revelation 1:13 and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with
a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. White linen of course signifies purity
and righteousness.
Having
their chests girded with golden bands;
Girded with bands of gold signifies the rank of these angels and what they are
about to do pertains solely to the Work of Christ. Jesus is in charge of all of
the Judgments; the Seals, the Trumpets, and the Bowls. The One Who is the
Saviour will be the Judge.

Bowls Judgments

7 Then one
of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full
of the wrath of God who lives forever and ever.
Then
one of the four living creatures; This
is one of the creatures described in chapter 4 that sit around the Throne. Revelation 4:7-8 The first
living creature was like a
lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a
face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. 8 The four living creatures, each having six wings,
were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying:
"Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!"
Gave
to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God; These judgments will be worse than any
other of the previous judgments. Why do I say that? It is because these bowls
are full to the brim; to the point of over flowing. This is the way it will be
with God; He can’t take anymore, He has had it, He is like a volcano ready to
burst because of the sin on earth.
Who
lives forever and ever;
This tells us God is eternal, with no end.
8 The
temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power, and no
one was able to enter the temple till the seven plagues of the seven angels
were completed.
The
temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power; Many places in the Bible when God
appeared there was smoke. He led the Israelite by fire at night and a cloud of
smoke by day. 2
Chronicles 5:13-14 indeed it
came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and
thanking the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and
cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying: "For He is
good, For His mercy endures
forever," that the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a
cloud, 14
so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for
the glory of the LORD filled the house of God. Isaiah
4:5; Isaiah 6:4; Exodus 19:18
No
one was able to enter the temple till the seven plagues of the seven angels
were completed; Why
would this be that no one would be able to enter the temple until the seven
bowl plagues were complete? It is because that way no one would enter to make
intercession for those on earth; to turn away God’s wrath; to divert God from
his purpose. The punishment had been formed, and would certainly be executed.
You ask is this possible, yes it most certainly is. Moses interceded for the
Israelite and as a result God spared them. Exodus 32:10-11 Now
therefore, let Me alone, that My wrath may burn hot against them and I may
consume them. And I will make of you a great nation." 11 Then Moses
pleaded with the LORD his God, and said: "LORD, why does Your wrath burn
hot against Your people whom You have brought out of the land of Egypt with
great power and with a mighty hand?
Colossians 1:16 For by Him all things were created
that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether
thrones or dominions or principalities or powers.
All things were created through Him
and for Him.
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of
the glory of God,
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our
Lord.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, Most assuredly, I say to you,
unless one is born again, he
cannot see the kingdom of God."

Sinners Prayer; Pray this, and if you
believe it with your heart, Jesus will save you!
“Lord
Jesus I know I am a sinner. I confess my
sins to you; I am sorry for my sins; I repent (Meaning, desiring to turn from a
sinful lifestyle.) of all my sins, and I am asking for your forgiveness of all
of my sins. I believe that only you can
forgive sin. I commit my life to you and
ask you to come into my heart, direct, and take charge of my life. I believe that you died to set me free from my
sinful lifestyle and you rose from the dead to give me eternal life, and right
now you are seated at the Right Hand of God Almighty. I believe you are the Son
of God; the only Way, the only Truth, the only Life, and my Savior.” I believe this and have faith you will make a
new person out of me, by sending the Holy Spirit to dwell in my heart and lead
me in a new life. In Jesus name I pray Amen.”
