apology's for not having this out last night, but I had no internet connection.

Psalms 129:1-8 A Song of Ascents. "Many a time they have afflicted me from my youth," Let Israel now say—"Many a time they have afflicted me from my youth; Yet they have not prevailed against me. The plowers plowed on my back; They made their furrows long." The LORD is righteous; He has cut in pieces the cords of the wicked. Let all those who hate Zion Be put to shame and turned back. Let them be as the grass on the housetops, Which withers before it grows up, With which the reaper does not fill his hand, Nor he who binds sheaves, his arms. Neither let those who pass by them say, "The blessing of the LORD be upon you; We bless you in the name of the LORD!"
Father God, keep calling us to you. Let your voice grow in volume until we hear it and then repent and turn to you for all things. We are sinners and need your Grace through Salvation for eternal life with you. Let the revelation of the Cross be revealed, so the lost can receive that free gift of Grace you have for them. May they find peace and comfort in you and your Word. In Jesus name we pray, Amen!
Book of Hebrews 3:1-11 NKJV
This lesson is about listening to God and obeying. Being an obedient servant and doing the will of God out of love. We are to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Mark 12:30 AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.' This is the first commandment. This is the first and greatest commandment, and if we do this, we will walk in Jesus light. If we place God first in our life all the other commandment will fall in place.
1  Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus,
This verse would be better understood if it were stated as; “Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession.”
If you go back and start reading at verse 17 of the last chapter, you will be able to better understand what is being said. (17 Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.) These verses are stating that Jesus is the Messiah and He died on the Cross for us. This makes Him an Apostle and High Priest.
Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling; Paul is speaking of the brothers and sisters that have heard the calling of God and turned from their wicked ways. They have denounced their lifestyles and realized they are sinners and no longer desire to live that way.
Consider the Apostle and High Priest; So what Paul is saying here in verse one is that Jesus was an apostle while here on earth and now is a high priest for His brethren, or brothers and sisters that have accepted Jesus as their Saviour and have placed their faith in Him and His sacrifice on the Cross for us.
Of our confession, Christ Jesus; Our confession means those that have given their heart to the Lord have confessed their sinful way of life to Jesus, realizing it offends Jesus and they want Him to come into their life and rule and reign.
2  who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house.
Who was faithful to Him; “Faithful to Him”, is referring to God the Father.
Who appointed Him; This is referring to God the Son. God appointed Jesus to suffer and die on the Cross for us just like He appointed Moses to lead His people out of the land of Egypt.
As Moses also was faithful in all His house; Here we have a comparison to the faithfulness of Jesus to God in carrying out Gods will of salvation, and the faithfulness of Moses to God in carrying our Gods will in leading and caring for the Israelites.
3  For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house.
Rephrasing this verse so we can understand what it is saying in our language today would be like: “This man, Jesus, deserves far more glory than Moses, just as a person who builds a house deserves more praise than the house itself.”
For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses; Jesus is our High Priest. He is the only man that led a sinless life here on earth, therefore defeating Satan. Only He is worthy to be the ultimate sacrifice for us so that we may have eternal life through Him.
Inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house; A house doesn’t actually get the praise it is the architect that designed the house and executed the construction of it. Just like the houses that Frank Lloyd Wright has designed and had built. It is a marvel to look at them and wonder how he came up with the design. The structures are a tribute to his ingenuity.
This house in this verse being referred to is the house of Israel. God built up the Israelites not Moses, so God is due the praise.
4  For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God.
For every house is built by someone; So very true that houses are built by someone, but are we actually the builder or are we instruments of God like Moses was?
But He who built all things is God; God is the creator of all things and ultimately is the one that deserves all glory and praise. We can’t do anything without God.
5  And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward,
And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant; Moses was a very faithful servant. He loved God greatly and also loved the house of Israel. On occasion God would get angry at the people and want to destroy them, but Moses interceded for the people. Moses was not only a faithful servant in leading God’s people, but he also wrote the first five books of the Bible.
For a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward; What this is referring to is the many things that Moses recorded, and down through the ages have been talked about, the laws, prophecies, preparing the way, etc. All the Old Testament believers also served to prepare the way. In reading the Old Testament, we see (1) how God used people to accomplish his purposes, (2) how God used events and personalities to illustrate important truths, (3) how, through prophets, God announced the Messiah, and (4) how, through the system of sacrifices, God prepared people to understand the Messiah's work. Moses played a very foundational part in God’s plan.
6  but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.
But Christ as a Son over His own house; So what house is this being spoken of? It is the Church. It is people that have forsaken their flesh, their lifestyle, and submitted their life to Jesus. They have place their faith in Jesus for all things just like Moses submitted his life to God for all things in the OT. Moses faith was in God, but now, when Jesus died on the Cross the New Covenant was born, and now we are to put our faith in Jesus and what He did on the Cross for us. Now it is Jesus we put our trust in for all things.
Whose house we are; This refers to the New Testament house, the Church, children of God, Jew and Gentile alike, Born Again believers, true Christians, true believer that believe with their heart and not their mind.
If we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end; This phrase is interesting in how it is stated. It says, “If we hold fast”. What does that mean? It means it is possible to fall from Gods grace after we have been saved and go back to living a sinful life. If we intentionally turn our back on Jesus and what He did for us, then we can lose our salvation, eternal life. Isn’t this what happened to Judas, the love of money got a grip on his soul? What about Ananias, and Sapphira? Wasn’t it love of money that gripped their souls also? Acts 5:1-5 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession.  2 And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles' feet.  3 But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?  4 While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God."  5 Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things. 6 And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him. 7 Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened.  8 And Peter answered her, "Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?" She said, "Yes, for so much."  9 Then Peter said to her, "How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out."  10 Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband.
God has given each of us free will to choose how we will live our life. We can choose to live with Jesus in our hearts and aim to please Him, or live a life of pleasing our human desires. It only takes one intentional sin that is planned and executed that will separate us from God, but God is merciful and will forgive us if we do not carry out the sin and repent of our thoughts. As Christians we all sin unintentionally and when this happens we get conviction of our wrongdoing and then repent of our actions, but sinning intentionally by planning and scheming is totally different. When we sin intentionally, get conviction, and ignore the conviction and not repent, then we turn our back on God. God’s love for us is so great, he is merciful and will forgive our sins no matter how grave they are if we are truly sorry and repent of our sins.
It only takes one willfully committed sin that separates us from God. Adam sinned only once intentionally and he and Eve were cast from God’s garden. James tells us if we break one law it is the same as breaking all the laws. James 2:10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. This is why it is so important that we understand why Jesus had to die on the Cross for us. As human beings with the inherited sin nature within us, we can’t help but sin, but the difference is willful sin. Jesus atoning shed blood covers us when we give our heart to Him as long as we are truly trying to abide in Him through what His Word teaches. John_8:31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. John_15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. John_15:6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. This is why the following 2 verses are disturbing to a follower of Jesus Christ. Matthew 7:13-14 "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
The following verses also confirm that we will not enter into His Kingdom if we are intentionally rebellious.
7  Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: "TODAY, IF YOU WILL HEAR HIS VOICE,
8  DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS AS IN THE REBELLION, IN THE DAY OF TRIAL IN THE WILDERNESS,
9  WHERE YOUR FATHERS TESTED ME, TRIED ME, AND SAW MY WORKS FORTY YEARS.
10  THEREFORE I WAS ANGRY WITH THAT GENERATION, AND SAID, 'THEY ALWAYS GO ASTRAY IN THEIR HEART, AND THEY HAVE NOT KNOWN MY WAYS.'
11  SO I SWORE IN MY WRATH, 'THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST.' "
These verses are taken from Psalm 95:7-11. The lessons of this Psalm is; Sinners should respond to the gospel invitation to worship and serve God; sinners should respond today;         sinners should respond for fear that God in His wrath might speak upon them the verdict that He pronounced upon the unbelieving Israelites in the wilderness.
The author is unknown for this Psalm, but inspired by the Holy Spirit.
What is a hard heart? It is one that pleases the flesh. It is one that takes scripture and twist it to fit the individuals lifestyle or what they believe in. It is one that thinks God has changed over time like the same sex marriage movement that is going on, that He approves, and they will go to Heaven. It is one that has time for the things of the world and not Him. It is one that believes in the faith movement that is happening. It is one that believes in customs, heritage, and rules and regulation.
A hard heart is like a bowl of really cold ice cream that chocolate is pour over. The chocolate freezes and turns hard, and if the lifestyle continues, the layers of chocolate keep piling up and freezing until it is so hard it is almost impenetrable.
So if today you hear a His voice, listen to that little whisper and melt that chocolate and let Jesus in. His calling may come through disease of self or loved ones, an accident, a job, something really good that may happen to a person, etc. Jesus calls us in many different ways, but we brush the thought away and go on living as usual.

Colossians 1:16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth,
visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers.
All things were created through Him and for Him.
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, Most assuredly, I say to you,
unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

Sinners Prayer; Pray this, and if you believe it with your heart, Jesus will save you!

“Lord Jesus I know I am a sinner.  I confess my sins to you; I am sorry for my sins; I repent (Meaning, desiring to turn from a sinful lifestyle.) of all my sins, and I am asking for your forgiveness of all of my sins.  I believe that only you can forgive sin.  I commit my life to you and ask you to come into my heart, direct, and take charge of my life.  I believe that you died to set me free from my sinful lifestyle and you rose from the dead to give me eternal life, and right now you are seated at the Right Hand of God Almighty. I believe you are the Son of God; the only Way, the only Truth, the only Life, and my Savior.”  I believe this and have faith you will make a new person out of me, by sending the Holy Spirit to dwell in my heart and lead me in a new life. In Jesus name I pray Amen.”  (John 3:16,17; Romans 3:23; 6:23; 5:8; 10:9-13; Ephesians 2:8-10; 1 John 5:11-14; 1:6-10) (Sin: Rom. 1:22-32; Gal. 5:19-21; Eph. 5:3-7)
