The Lord’s Prayer
6-29-2011 Vol. 4 Part 12
Psalm 37:1-9 NLT  A psalm of David. Don't worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither. Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the LORD, and He will give you your heart's desires. Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust Him, and He will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun. Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for Him to act. Don't worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper—it only leads to harm. For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the LORD will possess the land. Father God we praise your name, we pray that your will be done through us and that our ears be open to hear and recognize your will. Provide us spiritual food each day so that we can be good stewards for you. Help us to forgive as you have forgiven us. Protect us by revealing something to us each day that we need to improve upon, so that we can become more like you and not of the world. You are awesome! Thank you Jesus! Amen!
This is the last part about the Lord’s Prayer. Did you ever think about what you were saying in the past when you prayed it? I truly hope the series has been an inspiration as to what Jesus taught us. I also pray that when you pray the Lord’s Prayer now, it has a whole new meaning, and not just a prayer. I also hope that you use it as a guide when you pray. I still at times start out praying by asking for things instead of praising God first. Then I stop, apologize to God, and go back and start over. So use the Lord’s Prayer as a form of outline when you pray to God our Father, like this:
Position and Praise:

Our Father who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.

Father you are awesome, (we / I) praise your holy name above all others. (we / I) exalt you and praise all you do. You are (our / my) God, there is no other God, you are the creator of all things and ruler of the universe.

Priorities: (God to rule/reign within us, around us, and before us.)

Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven.

Let your will be done on earth to give you glory and praise. (We / I) pray that your will be manifested in (us / me) so that (we / I) can portray your love. Use (us / me) Lord to do your will. Let your will be done in the environment around (us / me) no matter where (we / I) go. Let your light shine through (us / me). Let (us / me) and (our / my) actions be a mirror of you Jesus.

Provision: (List of what you want God to provide for you.)

Give us this day,
Our daily bread.

Provide (us / me) the manna from Heaven to go out into all of the world, to proclaim your name.  Supply (us / me) with the spiritual food to stand fast against sin, and the lusts of our flesh. Provide (us / me) the knowledge of sin and all aspects of the 10 Commandments. Help (us / me) to give you all (our / my) worries, and include you in all decisions to be made. Help (us / me) to depend on you for all things like the little sparrows do. (Ex. Food, shelter, payment of bills, necessary clothing, etc.)

Personal Relationship:

Forgive us our sins,
As we forgive those who have sinned against us.

Father forgive (us / me) of (our / my) sins, we are a hard hearted, stiff necked people. We know not what we are doing. Have mercy on (us / me), we sin and don’t even know that we sin because of that awful sin nature we inherited. Only believing in what Jesus did at the Cross can we have any hope of sinning no more in your eyes.
Father (we / I) forgive those that have sinned against (us / me). (We / I) hold no grudge. (We / I) know that you can’t forgive (us / me) of (our / my) sins, if (we / I) don’t forgive those that have sinned against (us / me).
Note: I know that some people are wronged in ways that are very difficult to forgive. Some things take time. Go back to the provision part and ask God to help with the hurt and pain so that you can forgive. There can’t be any greater pain that what Jesus did for us when he gave his life for us and then asked His Father to forgive them fore they knew not what they were doing. Believe me, Jesus will help you to forgive if you ask Him.

Protection:

Lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.

Father protect (us / me) from temptation. Put that hedge of protection around (us / me) this day. Give (us / me) the discernment to avoid situations that would cause (us / me) to sin and cause you pain. Deliver (us / me) from the evilness in the world, whether it be a place, thing, or people. Deliver (us / me) from the lust of (our / my) flesh.

Praise:

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

For all things are possible with you Father. (We / I) praise your Holy name. You are Holy, Holy, Holy, Hallowed be thy name. You are the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega. Thank You Jesus for all that you do! Amen!

So with what Jesus has taught us, model your prayers after the Lord’s Prayer when you talk to Jesus. Use it as a guide when you are praying for yourself, for other individuals, for situations, etc.
I don’t really know what will be next. I have thought about the Trinity because some people have asked questions about the Trinity and how to fully understand it. Or it could just be on Bible Scripture of the New Testament. I guess you will just have to wait and see.

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God!

Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth,
Unless you are Born Again, you cannot enter into Heaven, the Kingdom of God."

Last Week’s Trivia: Can pools of water suddenly appear out of nowhere?
Answer: 2 Kings 3:20 NKJV  Now it happened in the morning, when the grain offering was offered, that suddenly water came by way of Edom, and the land was filled with water. You can read the rest of the story in verses 2 Kings 3:13-24 to see how the water appeared and what the result was of the water appearing.
This week’s Trivia: There was a dead person cast into a grave and came back to life when his body came into contact with the bones of a prophet. Who was the prophet?
